The company is located in the heart of Monferrato, a few kilometers from the thermal town of Acqui Terme,in the province of Alessandria.
The vine area covers 8.5 hectars; the produced wines are: BARBERA DEL MONFERRATO, DOLCETTO d’ACQUI, MONFERRATO FREISA and CORTESE DELL’ALTO MONFERRATO, all “Designation of controlled origin”.
The “Guyot” method of growing in the vineyards encourages low yields per hectare, which means optimization of grapes ripening for a better quality of wines.
Defense against pests of vine is planned in order to protect environment, health of people who perform the work in the vineyards and of the final consumers of our wines, that’s why we use exclusively contact and non-residual pesticides (rinsable by summer rain) such as copper sulfate, sulfur and pyrethrum.
The grape harvest is carried out manually, by transporting the grapes from the vineyard to the cellar in boxes of 18 kg. The vinification follows and respects tradition, therefore we leave the must for 12-15 days under the "cap" formed by the skins of the grapes, sprinkled with the must below at variable intervals.
Manual harvesting, which allows us to choose only healthy bunches, together with the extreme care in oenological machineries and fermentation tanks cleaning, as well as the beginning of fermentation in the shortest possible time, favoured by inoculation of must already in full fermentative activity, allows us to restrict the use of sulphites.
The produced wine is sold directly to consumers both unbottled and bottled and delivered directly or through courier for distances from the factory exceeding 400 km.
